Mojo Monday - Mo Manning

I was in-between some DT work today and took some time out to ink up another of the fabulous Mo Manning stamps - I am so thrilled that I can at last work with Mo's images using distress inks and Twinkling H2O's. This stamp is called End of Summer from Stampavie, and what better on another dull and dreary day than to use bright pretty colours.

The papers are a mix of 3 Bugs in a Rug and Pebbles Inc (two more that I have had for yonks - I am determined to try and use up some of my old stash). The sketch is this weeks Mojo Monday challenge, and I've already made a second card using it today, it's brilliant. The flowers and buttons are from a Crafty Feeling kit.

I’m off to brave the second leg of walking the dogs today, it’s so icy out there I skated most of the way around the estate this afternoon, not nice :( It’s treacherous out there so if you have to go out be careful!

Not just for Christmas (I think)

I think I can get away with using this Magnolia stamp all year round - well Christmas has been and gone (I must have blinked!!) and holly is evergreen so I guess I can use this stamp not only for Christmas.

magnolia-vintage-roses2
I have used some beautiful Melissa Frances papers that I got from The Hobby House and some Colour Core card stock which I have distressed with a bit of sandpaper and a distressing tool.  I have coloured the image with distress inks and Twinkling H2O's and added Stickles and Liquid Pearls so lots of shimmer  (talking of distress inks - have you seen the NEW colours that are coming out soon - OMW I so need these!!  The sage is so yummy, so are the two new pinks mmmmm I am drooling here lol).

magnolia-vintage-roses3
A bit of stitching and lots of roses from Wild Orchid Crafts (spritzed with Hydrangea Glimmer Mist) and job done.

magnolia-vintage-roses1

Stampavie DT - Elodie in her garden

I made this card a while back and forgot to post it.  I found the photos on the camera's memory card this morning whilst I was looking though photos taken yesterday.  It's a just because card - just because I love Sarah Kay lol.

sarah-kay-elodie-in-garden2

I coloured the Elodie in her garden with Copics.  I used some old Kay & Co papers - these were so made for Sarah Kay images I think.  The cherry blossoms are from Wild Orchid Crafts, they were cream and I have spritzed them with Glimmer Mists Old Lace and Creme-de-Chocolat.  I edged the chocolate ones with gold Stickles but it looks awful in the picture – much more subtle IRL.

sarah-kay-elodie-in-garden3
I got the ribbon from my local craft shop – it’s it just gorgeous!  I need to go back and buy the rest of the reel lol.  Love the little velvet dots on the organza, so pretty.  The sentiment is by Rachelle Anne Miller for Stampavie and the pearls are from The Hobby House.

I hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday and enjoyed special time with your friends and family.  I'm off to make a lamb curry (note not a word of left over turkey - my lot are not turkey fans so it was a roast rib of beef for lunch yesterday).  Then I am going to get some blog hopping done whilst the curry is cooking.   Have fun whatever your plans are.

Ooops, just realised I did not post the Saturday Surprise candy - I'll be back with that later and will let it run till Monday.  And no it wasn't the wine lol

Whiff of Joy – Willow writing recipes

I didn’t think I was going to get this posted today, I have not been feeling too grand and couldn’t be faffed to turn the computer on, now that’s got hubby worried cos he thinks I’m married to the blessed thing.  So if I have not answered your emails please bear with me, I will get round to it as quick as I can.

I have not made a card for days I’m afraid, this is one I did a while back.  I have used Willow writing recipes and have made another easel card.  I have used some more ancient papers – Anna Griffin and Craft Creations.  I wanted something bright and cheerful and as far removed as anything remotely Christmassy and these fitted the bill.  The image is coloured with Copics.  I so need more blues – had to do a lot of mixing of two colours by picking up the darker colour off an acrylic block with the lighter colour to get the shading on her jeans.
 woj-willow-thinking

The flowers are just punched with Woodware daisy punches using the DP’s and paper I used for matting.  The pearl brads and spacers are from The Hobby House.  The gorgeous sentiment is by Rachelle Anne Miller from Stampavie.  I just adore the beautiful font she has used.

Sketch & Stash Challenge

Another rushed post from me today, I didn’t even think I would get this card posted.  I did this card following the sketch on Sketch & Stash challenges.

magnolia-unwrapped-tilda-3

I dug out some of my long neglected Sizzlits dies (the large snowflake and the sentiment) and blinged them up with lots of fuchsia glitter.  The paper is also long neglected – K & Co that I got a couple of years ago.  I don’t know if it’s so much neglected as that I just can’t bear to cut into it lol.

magnolia-unwrapped-tilda-2

The buttons are from my stash and are probably off an ancient blouse that went the journey a long time ago.  The border around Tilda is done with a little Kelly Panacci snowflake stamp and Worn Lipstick ink (stamped off first to lighten the image) then blinged with Stickles.  The image is coloured with the usual Distress Inks and H2O’s.

Must dash, I need to get some more DT work done.  Hope you all have a fab Sunday.

Create4Fun Challenge

This week we have a fab sketch on Create4Fun Challenge, nice and easy too.

stampavie-siku-&-shiya

I received my first DT pack from Stampavie the other week and in there was all the new Mo Manning stamps – I’ve been itching to get my hands on these as with me mainly colouring with distress inks and Twinkling H2O’s digi images were a no-no for me (although I have been using my Copics a fair bit lately – getting brave in my old age lol).  For today’s card I have used Siku & Shiya – too cute for words.  I love how they have coloured with the distress inks.

stampavie-siku-&-shiya-1

I have used Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses paper (how perfect lol) and teamed the gorgeous roses from Wild Orchid Crafts with some Michaels wedding confetti.  The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy.   I have added lots of Stickles to the fur on the clothes and by their feet only it’s not showing up on the pictures.  I am so fed up with these dark, dismal, dreary days.  Roll on summer.

I’m off to do some housework – yuk!  Have a great day whatever you’re doing.

Just Magnolia – A sketch for you

This is our last challenge for 2009 – what a year it’s been.  We are so overwhelmed by the amazing support that the challenge blog has received, gotta love our Magnolia’s hey!!  Mina has done another amazing sketch – I really loved working with this, so don’t be surprised if you see the same sketch being used by me often!!

Mina sketch week 36

I have gone with yet another Christmas card – I swear I will still be making mine on Christmas Eve!!!  And it’s another aqua one – I am just loving this colour at the moment (makes a change from my pink and green phase lol)

bev

I have used Magnolia papers – these are just so yummy, if you have not broken down and got some you don’t know what you are missing.  I love the soft subtle colours and also the texture and vintage look to them.  The flowers are from yep – Wild Orchid Crafts which I have spritzed with Glimmer Mist.  I added a touch of broken china distress ink to the large rose – hmmmm think I was a bit too heavy handed there.  The little pearls dotted in the flowers and also on the corner of the card are from The Hobby House.  Both can be found here.  And did you spot that sweet little pearl pin – I was thrilled to bits when Jill sent me these, they are nice and small and don’t overwhelm the flowers.  You can find them here.

Have a great weekend, I will still be making Christmas cards plus I also have a huge DT project on the go which I can’t show for a month or so yet.

Mojo Monday

I’m dashing the post off whilst trying to get ready for work.  Please tell me I am not the only one running around like a headless chicken trying to fit 12 months into the next 6 days!!  I am so going to meet myself coming backwards shortly.  And I’m starting in January for next Christmas (funny I remember saying that this time last year!!)

I did this card following the Mojo Monday sketch for this week, Julee really does do some amazing sketches.  I’ve used Herb with Teacup from Whiff of Joy and have coloured him with Copics and added lots of Stickles.  The sentiment is from Crafty Sentiments and the papers are Pink Petticoat .

Right I really must head off to work now – guess who is going to be late again!! Have a great day.

Just Magnolia special monthly challenge - a card for someone special

Our special monthly challenge on Just Magnolia is a nice easy one so we want to see loads of entries!!  All you need to do is make a special card for someone special.  Easy hey!!  And the prize is pretty special too!!

Heidi from Simon Says Stamp has put a prize together for this Christmas monthly challenge instead of the usual voucher - isn't it fab!! I would love it just for the Simon Says Stamp sentiment stamps lol.  And check out the yummy Basic Grey and Martha Stewart stash too!

So my card is for someone very special, who has been there for me this year, stood by me and supported me in so much.  You will know who you are when this card arrives sweetie.  Thank you SO much xxx
magnolia-jm-special
The beautiful flowers are, as ever, from Wild Orchid Crafts - I just love their roses. I have blinged them up with Glimmer Mist and Cosmic Shimmer.
magnolia-jm-special1

The sentiment inside is from Crafty Sentiments, and the one on the front is one of the new Rachelle Anne Miller sentiment stamps from Stampavie.  Isn't this font just so gorgeous!!  Love all the swirls, and the sentiments are lovely too.  I have used some K & Co Christmas paper from a pad I got from The Hobby House last year - love the pinks and aqua's in this pad.  I wanted a sort of rustic look but it didn't really turn out that way - I so can't do rustic (not with all those roses and punched borders lol).  I cut the heart out freehand, does that count as rustic?  I've used a doily behind the image and punched the border with my new Martha Stewart punch that I got from The Hobby House.  They are sold out just now but keep yer eyes peeled as Jill is expecting more in stock soon.  The pearl pins are new in at The Hobby House as well, I coloured them with Copics.

I'm going to dash now as I still need to schedule the post for the JM blog and that takes an age.

Whiff of Joy Challenge – a sketch

This is our last challenge for 2009 on Whiff of Joy Challenges – where on earth has the time gone!!  We’ve a sketch to follow this week and as I am behind with getting my Crimbo cards made I’ve taken the opportunity to sneak another one in.

woj-my-sketch-1
I have used the beautiful Kaiser papers that I got from the Hobby House a while back.  The burgundy layer I just freehanded to get the size I needed as the Nestibilities were not big enough so it’s a tad wonky in places.  I have run the cream oval die cut through the Cuttlebug for a bit of texture.  The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the lace and buttons are from my stash.  The sentiment is one of those Anna Griffin ones again (just love that set).
