Stampavie Challenge

The challenge for this fortnight on Stampavie is Bows, using Kittie's tutorials to make a bow for your card/project. Here's the links to the tutorials: http://kittiekraft.typepad.com/kittiekraft/ribbon-tying-tutorials.html.

stampavie-s-kay-post-box2

Now you know me and challenges lol - I've gotta tweak!!  Not only that but I am the most video challenged person around.  No matter how hard I tried I just could not follow the tutorial and get a bow that looked like a bow so I went back to basics - Bev's basics - and did my usual bow.

stampavie-s-kay-post-box3

I've gone with silver and grey again, and quite like the splash of red on the image (couldn't have a grey post box and live in England now could I?)  I've made the snowflakes the same way as this tutorial I posted yesterday, and dug out these beautiful silver grey papers.  Sadly my bow can hardly be seen (trust me to use white organza *rolls eyes*!!).  I’ve added touches of snow to the top of the post box and under her feet with Liquid Applique).

Create4Fun challenge

Here’s another card I forgot to post yesterday - I‘m getting good at this aren’t I!!  The card is for this week’s Create4Fun challenge, which is another sketch (love working to a sketch if you haven’t already guessed lol).

I have used sweet little Henry Mouse hugging heart which has been coloured with distress inks and H2O’s.  The papers are Kaiser, the flowers are Prima Bubble poinsettias and the gorge buttons are from The Hobby House.wooj-henry-heart

Sketch Saturday

Oh boy!  Where has November gone!!  This is my last week as GD for Sketch Saturday.  I have loved each sketch (even though one or two were challenging lol).#79 28th Nov Sposor The craft Barn
Once again I have had a bit of a tweak, although I have followed the sketch quite closely (for me!!) and used the bling swirls for the dots on the sketch, I also rotated the sketch to fit the image.  I have used this sweet Motivet image and coloured her with Copics.  I've added a bit of bling to the wreath, maybe they should have been red for berries?  Too late now.motivet-candle-girl
I've used flowers from the December Crafty Feeling kit, topped off with these gorge bling buttons from The Hobby House.  If you've not seen Jill's new stocks of buttons you've missed out big time - they are deeeelish!!  They are so shiny you can see the camera reflection in them lol.motivet-candle-girl-2
I’m off to do a workshop today with some of the local girls – love these days as we just wing it and everyone has such a wonderful day.

Stamp: Motivet Candle Girl, Studio G Sentiment
Paper: Heidi Grace
Tools: SU word punch
Embellies: Flowers from Crafty Feeling, Buttons, ribbon and Prima bling all from The Hobby House

Just Magnolia Challenge

We have a few DT changes at Just Magnolia.  Kim, Martine and Rach have sadly had to step down due to other commitments.  We will miss you all heaps!!  Thanks so much for coming in right from the beginning and helping to make the challenge blog what it is today.  We also have 4 new DT members – DawnyP, Sheila, Jacque and Jane have all kindly agreed to join our team, really looking forward to seeing their fab works of art each week.

This week we have a sketch to follow, one of Martine’s.  I have (yep once again!) tweaked it and used the charm for the sentiment cos I needed a flower in the top corner lol.jm-magnolia-martinebuttons

Whimsy Snowman does Mojo Monday

This week sees another brilliant sketch by Julee on Mojo Monday, I just love love love working with her sketches.  This card was so quick and easy to make and for a change I have not overloaded the embellies – shock, horror!!
Love these Bo Bunny papers and have used up nearly all my stocks (best go shopping again then Bev).  I have coloured the sweet Whimsy image N’ice Friends designed by Crissy Armstrong with Copics – still need lots of practice with the shading but I’m getting there very slowly lol.  The sentiment is from a Kelly Panacci set.
I don’t know if the wee bird is supposed to be a robin but he’s one now.

Out_for_Publication_Badge

We have a robin that visits us every day and I swear it’s just to wind our Ebony up.  It lands on the fence and makes such a screeching racket till the dogs all pile out of the dog flap (ever seen 6 dogs try to get through one flap all at once!!!), barking like good ‘uns.  I have seen our Ebs try to climb the 7’ fence to get at that bird!!  Now Ebs is a cavalier – not a cat - but that doesn’t seem to matter.  That darn bird tears up and down the fence making as much noise as possible with 6 baying cavaliers following it’s every move.  I’m sure it clicks it’s heels together in glee just before flying away lol.  Here’s a pic of my girlie, butter wouldn’t melt hey!!47b4d834b3127cceb004a4e86ef40000001610

Whiff of Joy - Christmas

We have a fab, easy challenge for you at Whiff of Joy challenge this week – make a Christmas card.  So here’s another one ticked off of the long list that I still need to make.  Every year I say I am going to start in January and every year I run out of time and start a major panic around about now!  I’ve been missing again quite a bit – I have had a load DT/magazine work that I need to get out of the way which has been keeping me away from the computer.  Things should be back on even keel by next week hopefully.  So sorry I have not been able to visit you all.
This card fits in with Cute Card Thursday challenge – teen terrors.  I think Oakley is the perfect image for a teenager’s Christmas card.  And I’ve just realised this card also fits with A Spoonful of Sugar challenge as well, brown and either blue or pink. And it also fits this weeks Saturday Spotlight challenge (just lol) which is Ornament Obsessions (thanks for the heads up Vicki xx).

I’m back to the aqua colour scheme again, no surprises there then.  Found this pad of BG paper that I can’t even remember buying so heaven only knows how long I have had it *blush*

Friday Sketchers

Oops, I forgot to schedule this post after I had made and photographed the card.  I have used the sketch on Friday Sketchers - Jeanette has done such a brilliant sketch that I just had to use it.  I am finding it more and more difficult to squeeze in more than a couple of sketches each week, hopefully once the Christmas rush is out of the way things will settle down again (yeah right lol).

I have used one of the adorable new Christmas stamps designed by Crissy Armstrong for Whimsy Stamps.  When I saw this image my heart melted ..... I wonder why lol.  Crissy really does capture such great feeling in her images. santa

I used flowers from a Crafty Feeling kit, and guess what!  The Stickles came out again lol.  I used it on the snowflake brads and also on Santa's whiskers and beard.  Liquid Appliqué was applied to his hat and cuffs.

Sketch Saturday

Here's my GD card for Sketch Saturday, I have loved the sketches I have done so far, although at first I balked when I saw this one but was amazed how easy it all came together.woj-love-birds-1

I couldn't fit the sentiment in as per the sketch so me being me I had to tweak it again and used the Joy charm as the sentiment. I couldn't let the card go unstickled lol, so the flower is now all sparkly (had to do some more tweaking as there was room for only one flower).  I've added some Liquid Appliqué to the snow on the branch.woj-love-birds-2

Recipe:
Stamp: Whiff of Joy Winter Love Birds by Alison Acton
Paper: Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses
Embellies: Hydrangea from Crafty Feeling, rose from Magnolia, charm from The Works, ribbon from Dainty Supplies, Liquid Appliqué from Simon Says Stamp

Our challenge this week at Just Magnolia is  Masking.  I love using this technique, and the rest of the DT has come up with some fantastic cards!  Here's a little masking tutorial I did a while back.
I have used images from the new Magnolia Christmas release, they are just so adorable.  The papers are also Magnolia (love them).magnolia-jm-masking

Lili of the Valley Challenge

My GD spot has flown over so fast!  Here's my second card for the challenge, this fortnight we have a fabulous sketch to work to.  I just had to use these new yummy Kaiser papers - aren't the colours just so rich and gorgeous!  Love them.woj-uru-lotv

I had a disaster with this card, I had just finished colouring the image (Uru and bird) and what did I go and do???  Drop the open mahogany distress ink pad - face down - right in the middle of the image.  Oooh I could have cried.  It was beyond saving so had to start over again.

I spritzed the flowers with Cosmic Shimmers and even managed to squeeze in a touch of Stickles along the bottom of the image.woj-uru-lotv1
