And another challenge combo/Kadoodle DT card

I'm on a roll with the challenges this week again - yippee!! I've stumbled across yet another challenge blog - Cutie Sunday - I loved this weeks challenge so have combined it with this weeks Arty Girlz challenge which is Blue. I've used one of the Kadoodle stamps, I just love these stamps - the quality is superb.

I have used the BG papers that were supplied in the DT kit, and have stamped his blazer and cap onto the papers and paper pieced them on to the image. Isn't he just too cute!! He reminds me of when I went to primary school in South Africa donkey's years ago and all the little lads had to wear shorts, long socks, cap and blazer - oooh! I'm really showing my age now lol.

"Dan" Kadoodle Stamp available from The Craft Barn
Basic Grey papers also from The Craft Barn
Stitching stamps are HOTP, the sentiment stamp is a Studio G stamp
The stars are cut with a Sizzix die, the star button I got in a grab bag off Ebay

I am so glad that I am catching up with the challenges, I lost the plot badly last week lol. I've managed to combine two challenges with this card: A Spoonful of Sugar Animal Magic and Sketch Saturday 9 although I tweaked the layout a bit (the image just did not look right on a slant so she's standing straight and proud lol.

Three challenges, one card again

I managed to combine two challenges today, Papertake Weekly's challenge this week is Cool Yule, so I combined it with this weeks 2Sketches 4 You sketch which I think is perfect for Christmas cards, so simple and quick to do yet oh so effective. I also enjoyed making a rectangular card for a change, all I seem to have made lately is square cards.

Edited: I am going to add this card to the OCC challenge for this week as it fits the Christmas theme

PSX (Santa Rosa) stamp coloured with Prismacolors
Paper is by Anna Griffin
Sentiment stamp from HOTP Xmas set (love these stamps!)

First card for Daring Card Makers Challenge

When I saw the challenge this week was for Golden Oldies ......with so many new things /latest papers/ trendy stuff constantly coming on the market, we thought it would be nice to have a look back, and dig out some of our 'old' papers and embellishments and make a card with our 'preloved' treasures. I think the tendency these days is to get on the 'latest must have' band wagon, sometimes, its nice to recognise what we already have- even if it isn't the 'latest' embellishment/paper.

So true! Some of my favourite papers are the golden oldies that never seem to get used any more, so I dug some out and made this card using one of Katharina's sketches again, I love love love this sketch and will be using it over and over I think! I also inked up one of the first stamps I bought - another thing I've not used in a while.

Rubber Stampede and Stampin Up stamps
K & Co Papers
Prismacolors

Snowflakes and Snowmen

The Penny Black challenge this week is SNOW, so it was the perfect push to get another Xmas card made. I've used the Sketch Saturday challenge 8 for this card.

Sarah Kay Challenge 3 - too posh to be square

The Sarah Kay challenge this week is Too posh to be square, so no square cards, or books, coasters, altered art etc. Here's my take on the challenge

To answer the questions I have had by email - the shape is hand drawn and cut as is the scalloped mat (just got lucky that the shape and size fitted the scalloped scissors I was using without too much tweaking). I'm okay cutting other peoples files with the Craft Robo - but designing them?? Uh oh, I leave that to the professionals lol. I got the idea for the card this week when I was having a clear out and a heart shaped gift tag fell out of a box I was moving and landed on it's side and the idea was born. Not often I have a eureka moment I can tell you lol.

The image is coloured with a combo of Distress Inks and Tombow markers (I wanted soft and pretty and wasn't getting that from the inks alone so combined the two and they work really well together I think). The papers are from the Making Floral Cards magazine, the patchwork paper is gorgeous. The scalloped mat is DCWV from the Brights stack.

La Pashe Series 3 - The Gardener

Well, that's what I like to call him lol. As soon as I saw this set I knew what I was going to do with it. I think it's perfect for those difficult to make mens cards, how many people can remember doing just what that little lad is doing when they were young?

2 cards from me today

The CCT challenge 18 is Animals Only - No People Allowed and I needed to make a get well card for a friend so combined this challenge with the Mojo Monday 46 challenge (first time I've done one of these and loved it!!) I've tweaked the layout a little by adding the crochet rose bit think it needed something as the circle was too big (that will teach me to CHECK things before sticking them in place!!) I also wanted to try making on of my crochet flowers using bling embroidery thread and it worked a treat, soooo ... I am no longer restricted to crochet thread colours now, I'll be using up all my embroidery threads too lol! No faffing with this card, it was done in under 10 minutes.

Penny Black I'm so cute stamp
K & Co papers
Rest of stuff from stash

The second card is one for a colleagues birthday, so I thought it would fit with the Arty Girlz Challenge this week - why are men's cards SO difficult to make (probably cos they don't do cute lol). Went back to basics for this card, the background is made by stamping the harlequin backgorund stamp onto SU soft sky card with soft sky ink. The image was made by brayering different shades of blues and greens, then stamping on the lobster shack image then sponging chalk inks around the border to give a frame. I loved making this card, even though I did it last night and despite scrubbing my hands with bleach they are still a gorgeous shade of turquoise!!

Inkadinkado Lobster Shack and HOTP scrolls and sentiment stamps, Judikins Harlequin background stamp
Stampin Up! Soft Sky and Basic Black cardstock
Stampin Up Soft Sky ink and various Impress dye ink pads for brayering, Cats Eyes Chalk inks for sponging

Spoonful of Sugar 8

Woohoo - what a day I've had today, got the rest of my outstanding Sarah Kay's that I ordered back in April, plus my DT packs from Kadoodle and LaPashe. I didn't know what to do first, talk about a kid in a sweetie shop!!! Decided to ink up this Sarah Kay stamp and have a play!

I'm entering this in the Spoonful of Sugar challenge 8 - one for the girls - as Sarah Kay and High Hopes stamps can also be entered in their challenges. I went with another kick-stand card (I really love doing these!) I've lined the inside of the card with matching pink c/s and contrasting stripe paper from the same pad used on the front of the card, though the picture doesn't really show much!

Sarah Kay stamp coloured with distress inks, Stampin Up Circle of Friendship sentiment stamp
DWVW cardstock
K & Co La Boutique paper
Flowers, brads. ribbon and charms from stash (I coloured the flowers with cats eyes chalk inks to get the colours to match with the c/s)
